Right this tripped me up for a while so I thought I’d shed a bit of light to try help out.

There are three things you need to know to get your HDMI working.

You need a QNAP server with a HDMI out, you need the HD Station app, you cannot download this from the station itself.

Sort of, if you chose Home setup there is a shortcut on the desktop, click this to run and install. You cannot find the app in the app store.

If you chose Business then you don’t have the app on the desktop so you need to download HD Station from the QNAP website apps section (www.qnap.com/i/en/app_center/) on your computer first.

At the time or writing there was three to chose from, click on each till you find the one with your model in the description and download the zip.

Then from the QNAP box go to app install and click manual install, it will ask for a zip file from the computer you are logged in from.
Chose the file you just downloaded and click install.
After it has finished you should have HDMI output (no restart necessary).

To install chrome, XBMC, etc for the HDMI screen then you can do so from the settings menu, and chose the apps you wish for.
