Posted: 2012-11-19 in Code and Computers

Is IE10 slow to load on Windows 8  when you have a fresh copy not many plugins etc etc. Seems ok the next few starts until you reboot your computer?

Simple Fix:
Open IE 10 (yes wait the 2+ minutes)
Press Alt (and release) so that you get the tool bar up
Tools -> Internet Options
Select Connections Tab
Click On “Lan Settings”
Un select “Automatically Detect Settings”

Reboot and vola it starts instantly again!

    Doing this for my LAN settings did nothing. But when I did it for my Broadband connection, it fixed the problem instantly. Thanks for the tip.

      There isn’t much I can say, if the above fix doesn’t work then it could be many things.
      Is your internet slow in general (try going to speedtest.net or pingtest.net and check it out)?
      Is the computer slow doing non internet related stuff, like opening a pdf file?
      Install chrome and see if that works faster?

      Anyway the problem you have describe could be related to a million things.
      If you can’t solve it then take it to a friend who can fix it and watch and learn, or simply reformat and start over.

      Cheers
      Choco
